Each person is wired differently. I became sexually active all the way at 18, but had lesser experiences since 13.

well i was like 15, and i'm 16 now. i think it's more of who ur with and when u know ur ready, not just one or the other. u have to emotionaly ready and physically.

1) First you should be LEGAL

Legally the age of consent varies from state to state so you should really find out what it is in your state.  The laws ARE a bit convoluted though and it may depend on the age of your partner and whether you are both of the same gender. (See links below)

2) you should be of an age where you are responsible enough to have learned about safe s*x practices and if appropriate pregnancy prevention.

3) you should be old enough to have thought through what having s*x means to you.

Assume for a minute that your close friends and family knew you'd had s*x. Would you be comfortable with that?

Is your prospective partner pressuring you to do something you'd rather not?

Are you doing this as a way to "Keep" somebody?

The first person that someone has s*x with is usually NOT the last. Is this person the one that you want to remember for the rest of your life as your first?

If you can answer all of those questions, and are comfortable with the answers, then, you may be ready.

The age of consent of course, which tends to change for each country, state, province, and the kind of s*x (believe it or not).

I believe in canada the age of consent is 14 and 18 for "sodomy." if you look close at the definition of sodomy, regular old s*x is legal before you can have oral s*x. weird eh?
