I think China has done well and it should keep it up. Because USA is going to make a huge comback.

It seems to be the way. The host countries can usually get a lot more athletes to the games than they normally would. I think it would be thrilling for China and it's people to clean up on the talley.

We can all see with our own eyes how the Chinese earned their gold medals. Some nations might start to say silly thing that 's because they are upset and jealous as they are not as good.

I think people should be proud of their country's performance, salute the achievements of all the Olympians and stop bitching about other nations.

Rampant nationalism and sour grapes is against the spirit of The Olympics and though they may well have been a part of them since Ancient Times we should strive to be better spirited just as the athletes strive for their physical best.

Means a lot of arrogant americans would be whinging again. And NBC will be proudly trumpeting to the american people its forsight of changing the medal tally to ranking by totals. But even by totals, China is not far off America. Ooooo, don't know if the amreicans can hack it.

They are the host nation, so traditionally they are going to do better.

Considering they have a billion people, its no wonder they are going to have the most medals.

Im sorry but Im still not 100% convinced that some of those medals arent drug assisted.

I think it will become extremely awkward for some other countries who changed from the gold medal tally to the total medal tally lol.

I also think it will be an amazing achievement by the Chinese and a well deserved result for 4 years of very hard work! After all, every host nation wants to perform especially well in front of their home crowd.

Having said that, the organisation has been excellent and the Chinese athletes have performed really well and if anither nation wins more medals then there is no disgrace to the Chinese team as athletes or as hosts (and congratulations to that other team if that should happen).

Most medals or not, China has announced to the word that she is a sporting superpower!

They deserve it. No drugs (almost, lol), just hard work and determination. They do have a large population, which is why they are really good. I heard kids get trained in table tennis from the age of 5! Also, the asians in my school are more flexible than european averages lol...natural gymnastics talent?

We should send them diapers as a goodwill gift for the gymnast winners.

The gymnasts were incredible, but come on, get real.

1.3 BILLION people and they're pulling out the babies? Pretty sad. Especially for the ones of age [very possibly Chinese] that might have won it right.

Oh, and as an aside, the aussie judge was a serious pansy.
