  1. Royal Mail is older than Good Queen Bess, yet it is portrayed as some kind of Victorian shambles.

Royal Mail today is but a shadow of it's former glory.

In my childhood in the 1940s & 1950s, Royal Mail delivered three times per day to every household in the land.

Today it has been reduced by ruthless privatisers to a service which struggles to deliver once a day if we're lucky.

Imagine a golden age when your morning post arrived before you had sat down to your breakfast at 7.30am sharp.  Plus it also delivered your newspapers from far off lands.

You knew what was happening in Injah because Royal Mail had delivered you The Times of Inida.

The history of Royal Mail goes back a long way and was set up as a public service - non-profit.  Ever since the days of the Witch-Thatcher era, we have seen this country being destroyed by American style capitalism and greed.

This is no longer the Britain I was born in and grew up in.

A Royal Mail managed by cowboy capitalists - eighteen teens stabbed to death in London so far this year.  And things can only get worse, no matter which UK.gov we elect.  They all grew up as Thatcherists and are therefore beyond all hope of redemption.  They speak soft words, but what happens is the destruction of our nation.

    rant...blah!

  2. I only regret that it was seen fit to privatize it. I'm pleased that our constitution rightfully keeps delivery of first class mail free from the vagueries of private enterprise. It it was, my friends in northern Minnesota could probably look forward to monthly delivery of their mail, if that.

  3. Considering what they charge (30p for delivery within two days - normally one) it is an excellent service. A lot of countries cannot believe the speed and efficiency of our postal service.

  4. PROBABLY THE BEST IN THE WORLD I THINK ITS GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY

  5. How can people say its c**p???  If I post a letter in Scotland on a Monday night it can be in Cornwall on Tuesday morning for about 30p... That is a brilliant sevice...Anybody who complains that it is too slow or too expensive is not living in the real world, would those moaners take a letter 400 miles in less than 24 hours for the price of a stamp??

  6. Its  absolute cr*p, we dont get our post until 3pm most days.

  7. the best in the world, you should try using canada post, people dont call it snail mail for fun..lol..........it is terrible

  8. its quite slow, depending on how cheap you are with the stamps and its always arriving about 2pm when nobody is in the house to pick up parcels!

However the red of the postboxes are pleasing to the eye.
