  1. Not trying to be a d**k or anything, but they might feel good, but if I saw someone wearing them, I would laugh at them.. Very hard..

  2. They look funny and I think they would tickle your toes. I wouldn't wear them and I'm sure they are too soft to climb in - a climbing shoe needs to have a stiff sole for edging.

    Good Luck

  3. i'm sorry...

but those r really REALLY ugly...

if i ever saw a guy where those shoes i would be like...WTF!?!?!\

but u did mention the whole climbing thing...

so that is when they would be ok to where!!!

    :)

  4. I have a pair of the black KSOs which I wear just about everywhere.  They're definitely a different shoe, and many people won't hesitate to let you know just that.  I've actually had one person tell me that my shoes were "disgusting" (!), but the main thing I get from people as I walk around town is the question "where did you get those?".  So the first thing to note is these things are definite conversation pieces.

Naturally I wouldn't wear these in situations where my feet could be seriously injured.  If your only problem with the area you are to travel in is a hot and somewhat pokey surface, then these shoes are fantastic and very liberating.  I've done some light canyoneering in these shoes right in and out of the river and then up a scramble or two and they felt great.

However, when it comes to climbing with them I find myself missing the point and edge of a climbing shoe.  Instead of my entire foot working as a single climbing unit I end up trying to snag a micro with the weight going onto just my big toe, and while this is starting to make my feet stronger the more I climb in them my individual toes still don't quite support me the way that I'd like.

So, the fact that Vibram markets these as "barefoot shoes" is pretty accurate: you are essentially barefoot but a little less injury-prone on the bottom of your feet.  If that's good enough for you, then this is the way to go.

  5. those are the ugliest shoes i have even seen

  6. Hahahaha, oh man

that does not look like a fantastic shoe to climb in

with the separated toes, you'd think it'd be harder to get a solid foot on anything

Seems like it would hurt your toes, I know my toes aren't strong enough to individually hold up my entire body.

and as for the barefoot part - have you ever climbed barefoot?

    Not a pleasant experience.

but man, I'd really like to try these out, they look crazy!
