what does "ghetto" mean to you.

is it the way you act or do things, or is it really where you come from?

ghetto used to mean (70's) the run down, government subsidized neighborhoods.

I have no clue what it may mean these days.

"ghetto" is an area that is inhabited by people of a particular race,religion,nationality or class

and thats how I see it too

A ghetto is a place.  It can also be a state of mind.  You can absolutely act ghetto and do ghetto things.  Lots of people grew up in the ghetto.  People have to make up in their minds whether or not they will live and think ghetto, or want to do better for themselves.

Good question.  I get tired of hearing it out of context.

I know that that's a place....really bad neighbourhoods and very poor.
