  1. You must have warm cloths but if you go there in late April take some spring clothes as a raincoat or a light jacket and t-shirts

The Swiss climate is generally temperate, but can vary greatly between the localities, from harsh conditions on the high mountains to the pleasant Mediterranean climate at Switzerland's southern places.

  2. I was going to answer yesterday and say, light pants and a shirt--but today it's snowing, go figure!

It does rain a lot in April (usually). A rain coat with a removable lining would be perfect.

If you're female and under 30, you'll need low-rider jeans and a big flashy belt. If you're male and American, wear your best pants and shirt, but no tie.

  3. Warm clothing, because it can get chilly, especially at night.  Also, people tend to dress more formally in Zurich, so you'd fit in better wearing upscale clothing rather than typical tourist garb.

  4. April is Spring in Switzerland, so the weather tends to be a little bit unpredictable.  You should expect daytime temperatures to average between 10-21 degrees Celsius.  Rain is also possible in April.  But you may get lucky and have a few sunny days with high temperatures of about 22-23 degrees.

I'd suggest, for a male, a long sleeve, button-down shirt.  Additionally, brings sweaters and a light jacket in case the temperature on the cooler end.  A decent pair of slacks will finish the look and allow you to blend in nicely.

Zurich is a great city.  Everyone appears to be very fashionable and tastefully dressed.  Therefore, I'd avoid the "jeans and t-shirt" look altogether.  Enjoy!
