  1. If you are on a temporary work visa, you would be covered under Quebec health plan after a 3 month waiting period, see http://www.ramq.gouv.qc.ca/en/citoyens/a...

You would need health insurance for the first 3 months until you are covered unless you want to pay out of pocket.  You might also want to keep a supplemental insurance for services you need that are not covered by Quebec health plan.

  2. well of course you will have insurance, it is provided, however dont expect as good of treatment as the united states because of this. but your young you should be fine. good luck getting a job, i hear they are hurting with that.

  3. Canada has this system where they will ACTUALLY help you if you get sick. Don't worry you'll be fine.

  4. If you are in Canada as a legal resident, after a waiting period you will be covered just like everyone else.  If you are a visitor you must have your own insurance.  Health care is a provincial responsibility so I cannot speak for Quebec, but in Ontario neither drugs nor physical therapy are covered (in most cases) by the provincial health plan.  For these sorts of things people have supplemental coverage, or they pay.

  5. Depends.  If you are just a visitor, you will need your own health insurance as you do in the US.  The Canadian system is for Canadian residents only.  You need to find out if you will count as a resident for health care.  Otherwise, as you do not contribute towards the system you will be charged if you need treatment.
