  1. I use Earth Balance spread when I microwave-bake a potato or to spread on biscuits..

For baking, I use either Willow Run or Earth Balance buttery sticks.

  2. There is vegetable margarine made from olive oil, or using a high-quality virgin olive oil itself, or using a nut butter.  I'm partial to pumpkin-seed butter myself but almond butter is also nice.  Nuts have lots of oils in them.

  3. They use low temperature 50 weight linseed oil.  Don't use the one with PTFE added.

  4. Earth Balance Spread or Organic smart balance are both vegan

  5. There is a vegan butter called Earth Balance Natural Buttery Spread. You can find it at Whole Foods and other health food stores.

  6. It depends on what I'm making. When I'm making cookies I use Earth Balance, when I'm frying something (like stir fry) I use olive oil, and when I'm making bread in my bread machine I use peanut butter or almond butter.

  7. Earth Balance/Smart Balance, Pure, Willow Run Soybean Margarine, Spectrum Organics Spread, Nucoa, Nuttelex, Canola Harvest, are some brands of dairy-free [vegan] margarine/butter. You can also use olive oil and other oil as well as shortening such as Crisco, and vegan [vegetable] ghee.
