  1. Prior to 1847, non-meat eaters were generally known as 'Pythagoreans' or adherents of the 'Pythagorean System', after the ancient Greek 'vegetarian' Pythagoras... believed to be derived from "satvic" philosophy from India 6 centuries before.

A vegetarian is someone living on a diet of grains, pulses, nuts, seeds, vegetables and fruits WITHOUT the use of dairy products and eggs.

A vegetarian does not eat any meat, poultry, game, fish, shellfish or crustacea, or slaughter by-products.

The modern concept of vegetarianism was further customized for beginners in the modern society...

    Types of Vegetarian

    --------------------------------------...

    Lacto-ovo-vegetarian :

Eats both dairy products and eggs. This is the most common type of vegetarian diet.

    Lacto-vegetarian :

Eats dairy products but not eggs.

    Vegan :

Are the "pure" vegetarians from the original definition. Does not eat dairy products, eggs, or any other animal product.

  2. Hm I think that is obvious, though it is a good question still. Vegetarians eat thinks that are not meat, and get protein from other sources like peanut butter, beans, tofu, and cheese. But we do not eat meats.

  3. I am a vegetarian. I eat everything except meat. And I don't eat meat.

  4. All vegetarians don't meat but there are different kinds of vegetarians like ones that don't eat certain things like red meat or fish but if ur a vegan u don't eat any kind of meat including eggs or milk or any animal by-product and they don't were fur

  5. if an ANIMAL (definition: living thing that is NOT a plant) had to die, then we don't eat it.

If no ANIMAL had to die, we probably eat it

That's the simplest way to understand. We may be vegetarian becuase we think meat is unhealthy, and don't necessarily "care" about animals dying.. but that's just the simplest way to clearly help you understand.. since the definiton of "meat" has gotten so messed up, to where people don't know whether fish is meat (DUH.. it is.. it's the flesh of an animal)  So thats' why I use the "animals had to die" explanation.. it's very clear and accurate.. as long as you know what's an animal LOL

Animals include: fish, shrimp, oysters, insects.. snakes..

Gelatin is made from dead animals, so we don't eat it

Most "vegetarians" however, are "lacto-ovo" which means they DO consume anything made from milk or eggs, as no animals had to DIE to produce it.  (really, it's because it's not the "Flesh" of an animal.. it comes from an animal, but it's not "meat")

People who don't eat dairy or eggs will call themselves "vegans"

  6. they eat veges duh no meat no meat

  7. No: Meat

    Yes: Not meat

  8. they don't eat meat because they are "angry environmentalist L*****n tree hugging idiots"

  9. We basically eat anything that doesn't have meat in it...

Well we eat meatless meats, fruits, vegetables, pasta, beans, nuts, tofu, soy, etc.

Vegetarians can't have a lot of certain candies because some of them have gelatin in it or gluten. (its animal tissue, bones, etc.)

If they didn't have to kill or hurt an animal to make it, we can eat it.

  10. Vegetarians only supposed to eat plants, not supposed to eat meat.

I just read Shelly P...will Vegetarians eat Roadkill??

  11. everything except flesh

  12. Kinda like everyone has a different religion, but they r all Christians.  Some are Orthodox, strictly Veganism.  No meat at all, no meat by-products, no oils or additives which were produced by an animal. No egg or fish, dairy or wearing of animal products.  No kissing people who eat meat...lol

Some say no Chicken, Beef or Pork, but still eat fish, seafood, dairy & eggs.

Others will eat animal broth or additives which were produced by killing a mammal, will still eat seafood, eggs & dairy but will not eat the beef, fowl or pig meat itself & do wear animal products, leather jacket, etc. Will still kiss someone who eats meat as long as he/she does not resemble an animal.

    Everyone is different.
