  1. I've been veg*n for 21 years.  Meat is not even food to me, let alone a favorite food.  I eat whatever the heck I want and I thoroughly enjoy it.

  2. you can have favourite foods that don't contain meat! all sorts of yummy vegetarian food - my favourite is moroccan-y things with chickpeas. i like curries too and pasta and home-made vegetarian pizzas. and hopefully your meat-eating family would be respectful and supportive of your vegetarian choice - mine certainly are, it's just not that hard to be vegetarian.

and for 'ankleboo' - that's vegans that don't eat dairy products, vegetarians do, just not any meat!

  3. My favorite food doesn't contain any meat, in fact meat gags me! LOL

I'd get carpel tunnel if I tried to type out all the things that I eat. I don't need or desire meat. I'm lucky enough to live with other vegans so that's not a problem for me, but I did in the past -- they just cooked what they wanted and I cooked what I wanted.

I'm glad you asked in a curious, nonjudgmental way. Keep up the good questions, you'll learn a lot that way! :o)

  4. we eat food:]

    i mostly eat:

    beans

    pasta

    bread

    cheese

    veggies<3

    and fruit.

    simple.

i live with a family of meat eaters.

i can cook for myself, im not defensless, silly.

i know how to use a stove.

once you're off of meat, you realize it doesnt taste that good.

    my favorite food is cheese<3.

  5. I dont miss my favorite food because my favorite food is not animal flesh.

  6. You just ask them to buy stuff for you too, I eat a lot of veggies. You can find very good frozen food that can help you stop missing the favourite flavors you wanna have again.

For example morningstar farm's bacon strips, they're unbelievable.

    You gotta try the ribs

  7. Missing their favorite foods is not the point at all. Doing what you believe is right is far more important than doing what you want. Imagine a world where people do whatever they want and then imagine if people lived their lives thinking about their actions consciously before doing them.

  8. My favorite food is pan-fried tofu with a microwave baked potato and some veggies on the side.

The only meat eater I live with is of the feline persuasion, and I can choke it down long enough to open a can of stinky food for her.

  9. they dont anything with dairy products, meat fish and they dont wear leather, fur or skin from an animal but they eat every vegatable, soya milk, rice cereals pulses seeds herbs, mostly things meat eaters neglect to eat. eat quite alot of fruit too.

  10. Thank you LvAllcre for that nice comment to my friend skycat he did ask this question nicely didn't he? lol  I think it's interesting to learn about each others ways of life cultures even within our own races etc,,, I've  been really good friends with vegetarians and I didn't even know there were degrees of them, my friend wouldn't even drink milk or eat egg's or eat cheese I forgot what she was called but she was really a different kind of vegetarian, like nothing that came from an animal she would touch, I didn't understand but I respected her wishes,  and that's just it respecting each others decisions isn't it? I've tried tofu and it's not bad at all, but being a meat eater myself I get the best of both worlds because I get the meat and all of your good food the salads, veggies etc,,, but being a meat eater sometimes meat does make me sick and I can see your point of view but it usually passes in a few days but it does gross me out once in a while, I just can't think about it lol, right skycat ;)

  11. First of all, anyone who is raised vegetarian, as many are, would have nothing to miss.

Secondly, if you have a supportive family, it's not a big deal at all. I was not the first to go veg in my family, and we were never just a meat and starches group to begin with. There was always a veg variety at any meal, and my parents were happy enough to alter certain dishes to make version of them that I could eat. My dad actually really liked experimenting to do so. Between that and fake meats to substitute into some things, I don't miss much. I'll admit, sometimes I'll smell something cooking and feel a brief lust after it, but it always passes quickly, and is never insurmountable.

Someone who lives in an unsupporting household, especially if they're too young to purchase their own food, would have more trouble. People more obsessive than me tend to have issues, too. I don't care if my food is next to the meat in the fridge, and am not in the least bit bothered when people eat meat around me (other than a few kinds that are innately cruel, like veal). As long as the meat doesn't inadvertently get mixed in with my stuff, I couldn't care less.

  12. I still eat my favorite foods but I make them vegetarian.

  13. im vegetarian and my entire family eats meat. i do miss them sometimes, but i just remember what torture they went through so that i could eat them and i dont think thats right

  14. I suppose they have different favourite foods.

  15. I live in with a family who eat meat, but we also eat a lot of veggies, so it's not a big problem. I regularly remind them that what they're eating are corpses of poor little animals, too.

What I miss when I became vegetarian is fast food. The gross, disgusting, unhealthy, ease and quickness of it. I miss the time when I wasn't healthy and I didn't care.
