Question:

What do vegetarians take to work for lunch?

I want to know because I want to eat healthy and lose weight but I don't think I can get myself to eat plain raw vegetables. I want some flavor and I've always heard that vegetarians know the good tasty recipes. What's something I can pack for lunch? Thanks!

  4. Today I brought whole wheat pita bread, pinto bean salad, mixed greens, and an apple.  

    Usually I make 2 or more servings at night.  I eat one for dinner and then bring one with me for lunch the next day.

  5. i mix chopped celery with some red chilli paste and raisins,then fill them into 1/2 pita bread...

  6. A potatoe to warm up with salsa, lettuce, peppers, and onions.

    Bananas, and apples afterwards!

  7. if you have a refrigerator and microwave your options are pretty much endless! i like to make stuff at night that i can pack in a tupperware and heat up.... minestrone soup, split pea soup (i add in the soy sausage, lentils, barley), veggie chilis (i add a bunch of veggies along wtih the beans and soy ground meat), rice with veggies and beans or tofu, wraps using soy meats or beans, salads (i add the soy chicken strips), pastas with veggies... whatever you like as long as it can be eaten at work!

    do you have access to a microwave?  a fridge?  here are some ideas if you do:

    veggie sandwich in a pita pocket

    amy's meals

    thai kitchen meals (or is it thai noodle cart?)

    7-layer mexican dip w/ chips

    a cheese and veggie omelette (although i don't necessarily endorse eggs)

    make-ahead pastas that you can reheat

    anyway, those aren't the best ideas, but what can i say....i'm not awake enough in the morning to pack a fab lunch.  =P

  10. I bring frozen vegan foods (like Amy's) and pair it with frozen veggies that I steam in the microwave. I also bring vegan burgers...mmmm!
