  1. If they admit to being a pescatarian, I have nothing hateful to say about them. But if they are pescatarian and claim they are vegetarian, well, then I verbally attack them and call them hypocrits lol.

  2. They are just the same as anyone else who eats animals. I don't have any problem with them as long as they don't claim to be vegetarians.

  3. I really don't have an opinion on anyone else's diet but my own. I think it's a step in the right direction though.  Fish was the last thing I gave up and since it was not like I even ate it once a week...it was pretty easy to give up.   Many types of seafood are not that healthy anyway with the polluted oceans.

  4. To answer your question, I have no problems with pescatarians, as long as they don't claim to be vegetarian. If a fish eater says they are vegetarian, it's annoying. It makes people think vegetarians eat fish, when they DON'T!

  5. It's a step in the right direction.

    But pescatarians are not vegetarians.

If pescatarians can give up red meats, poultry, and by-products of slaughter, why not give up fish? Fish is not essential  for human health. Omega 3? I get my Omega 3 from soya milk and nuts. Omega 3 and protein are found naturally in soya milk.

Fish are living, breathing creatures. There are alternative, less cruel sources of protein, there are a number of vegetarian protein sources, such as beans, soya milk, nuts and wholegrains.

  6. wth is a pescatarian?

    meat?

  7. I don't really understand it, I'm not sure what they think they are accomplishing. I appreciate that they have greatly reduced their meat consumption and I just hope that they don't over-rely on seafood to compensate, since fish are living, breathing creatures that experience pain just like fuzzy chicks and baby cows do. Fishing is also terrible for the environment, overfishing is slowly causing a collapse of sealife biodiversity and there's solid evidence that the way humans are overfishing now is leading to an inevitable calamity.

There are wide-spread ads now by the government of numerous countries to target people and spread awareness about fishing:

Fishing - the boats used, the environmental impact, the by-catch hazards, the tremendous amount of energy it requires to transport, cool, process and package fish - are all incredibly wasteful. It's second behind beef when it comes to contribution to global warming and wastefulness to the environment - when I learned that I was horrifed and shocked. And I learned that by reading US government sites that deal with overfishing, including the increasingly concerned fish and wildlife, gaming and other sectors.

It's not cruelty free in the least, it's not good for the environment, and it's not really a health benefit to keep eating fish. The top food that's richest in omega 3's is flax seed, not salmon. Vitamin B12 is scarcely present in most seafood except for mussels. You don't need them for protein. I personally never found fish that tasty.

Unless someone lives in a remote fishing community and cannot have access to diverse world foods - basically, places like Chinese fishing villages or poor coastal communities in third world countries - I don't see why they need to rely on fish for nutrients.

I think it's a bit pretentious, it's a special label for something that's not so special in the end. In the Western world, it just doesn't make sense. In most of the world, being pescatarian is a way of life and I have no qualms with it. But for people to try to pass as a type of vegetarian, like they're doing animals and the planet some big favor, it's just a little annoying.

BTW, that is MY opinion and I have a right to express it. If you disagree that's fine, but I have a right to voice it. Just because it might offend or put someone off doesn't prevent me from speaking my mind. That's the reason why the 1st Amandment is protected. I will stand up for someone that says something *I* disagree with, for instance, just on the premises that I feel they have the right to say it.

  8. i think pescatarianism is just hypocrytical

  9. They are omnivores looking for a label.

  10. I THINK ITS A HYPOCRISY

they either eat meat or they dont!!

fish are living animals too!!!! it doesn't make sense!!

  11. i would rather be a pesctarian but since the hole point of being a veggie is to save animals &/or the way they r killed then being a pescetarian might sound like a half cast

  12. Not all vegetarians do it for a humane factor.  They do it for themselves and the health benefits they feel they receive from it.  Like being a vegetarian its a choice and its their choice.  Vegetarians dont like to be judged for their lifestyle so they shouldnt be judging either.

  13. IM guessing pescetarians are sea food eaters..

Then sea food IS ANIMALS ALSO. They go through a lot of pain boing killed too. just becaue we dont seee it.  THey BOIL in pots and pans ALIVE!!
