  1. Try checking the menus of Indian restaurants .You will find a verity of vegetarian food.India has the most vegetarian in the world. Also try other restraints menus and look at what they have as vegetarian meals.you can do this on line.

  2. My advice is:

    1. Find some vegetarian/vegan restaruants in the area or on the internet. Happycow.com is a great website.

    2. Narrow down a few or even just one that has meals on it that you would be willing to make and serve (I'm assuming you may have to do this for a class?)

    3. Find alternative recipes on the internet of the same dishes.

    4. Make sure to get the info from the restaurants (ex. the tofu scramble at the restaurant is $5.99) so when you make your own tofu scramble (which is like scrambled eggs with tofu instead of real eggs) you can present your own comparable menu including prices

    5. Use good meat substitutes. I ask that if you're going to serve a class of possible non-vegetarians, you feed them some thing good. Most none veggies I know have some dreadful look on their face at the thought of tofu because it sounds unappealing but really- it's yummy when done right. Soooo....if you're going to make, say, tacos, you can get the Taco Bell brand kit (yes, Taco Bell items are some times vegan- I get info. like that from http://www.peta.org/accidentallyVegan/) and use some thing like Boca's ground burger, Yves Ground Round, or Morningstar's Grillers Burger Style Crumbles.

All of this should help if you're not just making a menu but going to have to serve as well. Just some help from someone who went through the phase of not cooking and not knowing what to eat at first and needed some really simple recipes.

You can find vegan recipes easily just by typing that in on yahoo search engine or some thing like "vegan sandwich".

A word of caution, most vegetarian restaurants I have eaten at were pricey, in my opinion- although- when you compare it to steak prices or other meat prices- it's really not that bad.

Good luck on your project. I hope I helped some.

  3. here's some full meals i usually make myself at home with the approx prices i would pay for them in a restaurant.

    breakfast:

    pancakes w/ vegetarin sausage patty - $6

tofu scramble (it's the vegan version of scrambles eggs. made of tofus with veggies.) w/ toast- $5

    oatmeal w/ fresh fruit bowl - $4.8

    lunch/dinner:

    veggie burger & fries - $7

    flaffle - $4

    pita & hummus spread - $3.5

    bean & cheese burrito - $2.5

tacos (with vegan ground beef) - $3

    vegetarian chicken nuggets - $3

and most all desserts & drinks are vegetarian, of course.

anyway, good luck with your project! =]
