What do volleyball socks do and should I buy some?

I am going into 7th grade and I need to know if I need volleyball socks.If I get any I need plain white ones and I can't find any.can someone plz tell me where to get these, like a website or something. It would meen a lot thanx.

in all actuality its just 4 looks but that's what 7th grade girls are all about right...they could protect u from gym burn but probably not...

if u just want plain white ones u can get them pretty much any shoe store...heck even walmart...eastbay.com nike.com sportchalet.com take ur pick...

Here's the simple answer.  You don't "need" high socks at all for volleyball.  NO WHERE does it says you "need" high socks.  Wear any socks you want.  High socks are NOT for wiping your shoes.  It is NOT for sliding on the floor.  

These are just Myths.  Wiping your shoes on your socks are a stupid trend.  Socks are not needed for sliding on the floor.  If you are sliding on the floor on your shins or calves, then you're sliding incorrectly.  Either you're diving on your stomach or your side (barrel roll).

volleyball socks are for when you are diving for the ball and you don't slide on your knee pads, they are for protecting your leg under the knee pads and are for looks,

people on my team get them at ***** Sporting Goods.

there so you don't get floor burn on your legs, knee pads help but they don't cover your whole leg.

i don't use volleyball socks though, unless my whole team is.

,They keep you from getting floor burns on the floor when you sprawl..........Go to ***** sporting goods or a sports store and get ones that say all sports, you do need long socks(knee high) , Adidas fit the best.

Volleyball socks are an important part of the uniform just like the spandex. They also prevent burns on your shins. If you need the plain white ones just go to d**k's. That'a where I got mine.

Volleyball socks are there so that you can wipe the bottom of your shoes on them to keep from sliding! They also help when you are diving. You dont really NEED them i think it is sort of a preference thing. You can get them at pretty much any sports store! Hope this helped!

I usually wear knee high socks.  I bought plain white ones at Academy.  The ones at Academy were actually for baseball but it doesn't really matter.  Soccer and softball socks works too.  Wal-mart have them too at the sport section. If you want cute ones that matches your team color, you have to buy those online.
