Looking at china and other countries that are now catching us up,

what are we actually exporting?

The victorian days have gone now when we invented steam, factories, and were a century ahead of the commies and third world areas.

Now they have caught us up.

All we seem to be is a service industry to ourselves, docs, teachers, civil servants,on and on and import everything?

  1. We are world champions at exporting winging emigrants

  2. This is so true.  However, the real essentials in life are food and water. We are very rich in the UK, in these essentials.  The essentials for life.

Manufacturing on the cheap, is possible because of labour which is cheap. In time, the balance will start reversing.  The west cannot support an ever increasing prosperous China and India, although it can whilst the difference is so vast.

In the meantime, we live on a wealth illusion created by financial services.  That wealth illusion, is manufactured in the UK and the other main financial centres of the world.

Oil itself, is a limited prospect in terms of human survival.  It is a limited resource, which will run out eventually.  It may create notional wealth in terms of money illusion, for the countries that use sovereign wealth funds to purchase a share in other countries and companies.

Try creating in your mind, a self serving world on an island.  There is no money on this island.  People do not own anything, the land owns you.

What do you need on that island for survival, and for future generations?

Not very much is the answer.  Food and water, and some bloody sunshine for a change!!!!!
