  1. not all mammals give birth, some lay eggs

and not all reptiles lay eggs

so therefore the word you are looking for is

    viviparous

  2. Mammals

  3. I think the word you are looking for is viviparous, as differing from egg layers, which are oviparous.

  4. Mammals don't lay eggs.  (well 99% of them)

  5. They could be either ovoviviparous or viviparous animals.  The first lot retain eggs internally and, after hatching, the young make for the exit of the mother's body.  Viviparous animals go further than that, in that the egg stage is a short part of embryonic development.  All mammals, apart from the egg-laying monotremes, are viviparous.

Most other vertebrate groups include at least ovoviviparous species; various kinds of fish, sharks, scorpions, amphibians and various reptiles can all be cited.  Some sharks have even developed a form of placenta for assisting development of babies inside the mother.

  6. Lots of animals don't lay eggs, collectively we call them mammals, indivually they are cats, dogs, humans etc.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mammal

"All mammals (except for the five species of monotremes) give birth to live young instead of laying eggs."

  7. How can you ask this...YOU don't lay eggs..so you don't know what YOU are?  You are a mammal!!
