  1. ummmmm

    mini trains works for me

  2. ya you talking about those smaller trains that are at amusement parks or some type of Park.

those are just bigger toy trains really just really big scale     (7½ to 1 )I'm not sure of nicknames for them but they are really cool the steam engine actually run like the real thing.

    there's a big one here http://www.trainmountain.org/default.asp

  3. We call them miniature trains or mini trains. The difference between them and models is that they can be driven like full-sized trains, carry passengers, etc. 7.25" is one of the most popular gauges but there are others, ranging from 2.5" to 10". Anything below 2.5" is too small to be practical and is usually classed as a model, while anything over 10" is usually called minimum gauge.

7.25" and 10" trains usually operate and ground level which makes them look and feel more authentic, while the smaller gauges tend to operate on raised tracks.

Steam is the favourite motive power for miniature trains but there are also miniature (battery) electric and diesels.
