  1. sell the ones whos pregnat and idk im only 12  i hope the miceys are ok though

  2. Hi,

Unfortunately you are not the first person to bring home a pregnant Mouse. You have a couple of options available to you one being find a new home for your mice, one that know how to care for the mice and be sure to let them know about the pregnancy.

2 wait for the babies to be born and weaned and find them new homes ASAP or even source homes and adopt them out ASAP after weaning as the males can, if left with females, breed with any female they are with.

When you purchased these animals you put your hand up to care for them. I do not believe it is right for you to get rid of them and get hamsters but each to their own i guess.

    Goodluck

  3. Assuming you really do have 2 girl mice and not a male and a female, you do have a problem.  The babies will be born about 3 weeks after conception, and they'll be weaned at 4 weeks old.  At that point, you have to take all the boys out and put them in another cage, or they'll mate with all the females in the cage and you'll get a bunch more babies.

Each litter can be anywhere from 5 to 15 babies, if this is a young mouse I'd expect about 10 or 12 babies here.  You can't keep 8 mice in the same cage that fit your original 2 mice unless you got a really big cage to begin with, and you need a separate cage for the boys anyway.

And the bad news is, by about 3 months old the boys will probably start fighting and they will each need their OWN cage, although the females can stay together.

Contact the pet shop, because often they will take the babies back if they sold you a pregnant mouse.

And in the future, consider getting at least female rodents from someone who breeds them instead of a pet store, because the ones you get from a pet store--especially mice--are usually pregnant.

  4. go to the vet

  5. sell or give a way the babbie mice

  6. Just give them away, they are rats :| ...

  7. Hi,

You should be able to take the pregnant mouse back to the pet shop... they sold it to you when it was pregnant so it is their responsibility. If they are nice and reputable pet shop they will be more than willing to help you, or you could try other pet shops in your area.

If your two mice really are both females than you shouldn't have any problem keeping them all together when she has her babies, (which means you don't need a new cage) just make sure that you don't move or touch the babies until they have fur and are moving around (you will have to deal with a smelly cage for a while). Put some soft bedding material in for the mice, so they can make a nest for the babies. Just continue to keep the food and water topped up, as you normally do, and clean the cage only after it is safe to touch the babies.

Good luck, I hope the pet shop is willing to take them back, if not perhaps you have come friends who are able to care for them.

(Also if you are in doubt about whether the other mouse is a female take it back to the pet store to be sexed.)

    :o)

  8. I recommend finding new homes for them now, and then have the first come first serve type list of people who respond saying I want one of your baby mice. You should give them away as free. Before letting them go to the new home, go see what type of living condition they'll be in (to be on the safe side (at least look at their cage) they deserve it) and when they are born, let them go to their homes and you won't have to rush around trying to find a place for them. DO NOT give them to a local pet store as they could grow up to be snake food. You wouldn't want that, would you?
