  1. Sinking ring: A ring that sinks to the bottom of the pool that you swim down to get.  Usually made of plastic.

Diving stick: A stick that sinks to the bottom of the pool that is usually made of rubber.

Diving ring: A ring such as a sinking ring but made of rubber( I don't believe that is a difference)

Swimming cap: A tight cap used for swimming.  It keeps your hair out of the water, protects it from chlorine, and makes you more aerodynamic.  Made from rubber, nylon(most uncomfortable) or fabric(most comfortable)

Ear plugs: Pieces of plastic or rubber that in a pool's case, keep water out.  They are usually used to protect or heal cure swimmer's ear, which is when you get an ear infection from bacteria building up in your wet ear.  Another way of preventing it is by wearing a hat, like a beanie.

  2. Sinking ring, diving stick, diving ring: All used to practice retrieving things from the bottom of the pool.

Swimming cap: Keeps your hair out of the water and the water out of your hair.

Ear Plugs: Keeps the water out of your ears.

  3. sinkink rings and diving sticks are for you to swim to the bottom and pick them up. swimming cap makes you more aro-dynamic and keeps your hair dry, and ear plugs keep from getting annoying water in your ears!
