Would the psychiatrist take you off the meds while your pregnant, or are there FDA approved medications that women can take while they're pregnant?

  1. Most medications aren't approved and it's not recommended to stay on them - but depending on how severe the disorder is, they might HAVE to stay on them and take the risk to the fetus. But the better choice is to take a break from them (if you're able to) and just monitor your symptoms closer to make sure you'll be fine.

  2. The best thing would be to talk to the psychiatrist who prescribed the medication; they would have a lot better knowledge of your case history and what medications you're on, and be far better able to advise you.

  3. Hardly the place for questions like that....The answer will be very specific to the patient.
