Question:

What do women in general think of Hooters, the restaurant?

Are they offended? Is it not a big deal? Or do they just think it's something stupid that doesn't really affect them? Or do they like it?

  1. I like Hooters.  The wings are great, and the chopped salad is to die for.  Every time I've been there with my husband, the waitresses were very nice to both him and myself, and the service was the same as at any other chain restaurant.  No complaints here.

  2. It doesn't really bother me at all. I used to work right next door to one, so we went all the time. I'm not crazy about the wings, but to each their own. The only reason I'd be hesitant now is that I've put on a few pounds and I'd feel so fat in comparison to the girls....especially in front of my boyfriend :)

  3. I obviously can't speak for every woman, but I think the general feeling is that it's degrading but fairly harmless.

  4. I'm a regular at a particular Hooters. What I find special about this Hooters store (which I won't name) is the great camaraderie amongst the regulars, which includes some women who are non-Hooters employees. It's almost like an Irish bar where everybody knows your name and you have the chance to meet up with other regulars at sporting events or other activities.

Are these women offended? Not the ones who walk through the door. A lot of folks tend to enter the store in groups. Might be a table of 20-something or 30-something friends, both guys and gals. Or a family, with kids, here and there. There are a number of guys who fly solo and hang out at the bar or a side table. Some guys act creepy and are often hitting on the girls. Hooters gets it share of snickers in public discussions but it's essentially a sports bar with female cleavage on full display, along with all the calendars, shirts, and other merchandise that is offered and sometimes hawked.

  5. I'm not offended and nor are the women in my husband's family. On my mom's side, guys & girls are offended, but they've never been there so they can't really judge. I like it because of the food - great wings, shrip, and chicken burger! Oh - and the fries are the best!

  6. While I don't find the wait staff "offensive" I often find them less than efficient. At least in our local area, most of the patrons - yes, male - are willing to put up with a longer than usual wait because they are watching sports and pretty girls. As a person who goes their with guys, but is just there to eat, I get frustrated by poor service and slow response times. It's not the outfits that bother me, but the sacrifice of service.

  7. I like the food there.  The chicken fingers are really good.  I also like going there with my boyfriend and rating the waitresses.

  8. positive side is that they have great chicken, at least that's what I've been told.

personally, i do not patronize hooters.   i totally disagree with the waitresses attire.  hooters is suppose to be a family restaurant, and i think it's very offensive for little children to witness the skimpy clothing displayed .the workers.  the colors, shorts, and panty hoses worn are unattractive and it makes the girls look tramp.

imo, i think some of the workers are either part time students, strippers, or full time workers trying to earn a decent living   --i guess you gotta do what you gotta do to pay the rent/bills.  again, hooters will never get my business until management changes their dress policy.  hooters should be for guys only since the workers look like they are looking for attention.

  9. nothing offensive about it.

    like it.

  10. i heard they have good chicken wings there.

  11. There aren't many Hooters places in Australia, and I wouldn't go to one, for the same reason I don't go to girly bars or strip joints ~ not interested.

The workers can do what they want, and the management can make the dress rules they want, but I won't patronise them doing it.

    Cheers :-)

  12. acutally it doesn't bother me.i can go eat wing's and have fun.i had a hooter's girl fall in love with my son,ask me if she could take him out...i laughed and said when he is 18....she laughed.she said can i hug him ,i said no problem alot ladies do.so, we actually have a great time my daughter was 4 at the time so, i guess it's a matter of your morals and/or self esteem.i know this because i heard women say thing's like.i would never take my kids there see breast,or the w--- them girl's are exposing themselves, and moral wowe.i don't care it's life we all have them breast all different sizes, and now of day's you see more in schools, beach and stores so you can't shelter forever.......

  13. Completley depends on the girl. Some girls enjoy it, some don't care, and some are uncomfortable.

  14. I don't really care. I went there once, I enjoyed my food and didn't really think much of it. Out waitress was really nice.

Although it's interesting to see guys make fools out of themselves trying to get the waitress' attention...

  15. food was great, our waitress was lousy..she walked like a cowgirl walking behind a herd of cows..plodding along..atmosphere isn't all that great either...
