I'm not slating those who are naturally skinny, but I want to know what you think of this 'pressure' that girls put on themselves to resemble matchsticks.

  1. I think it's fine and looks lovely if that is your frame or body shape but for a naturally larger woman to diet down to a size zero, it must be a constant battle to try and get down to and stay at such an unnatural weight.  And for what, fashion, but if that's not your natural size it tends to just make you look ill or deformed, like the lollipop heads we see so many of these days on the catwalks.

  2. I think it'S already over - it's going back to "normal" I think - at least in Europe it is, thankfully. Not sure about America - I would hope so, because being thin is not equivalent to being healthy. I would prefer toned arms to bone sticks anytime.

  3. I'm a size zero, but i eat like a horse and am really lazy and never exercise! i think it is ok for people who are like it naturally because it is meant to be and it doesn't look weird, but for people to think it looks cool and slim down unnaturally to a size that doesn't fit with the rest of their body, and gets really skinny is wrong and repulsive. x

  4. it sucks. im thin, so i dont worry about it, but it still sucks

  5. well i don't think that everyone should be a size zero!i mean if your naturally petite(like me) then that's different, but everyone was built differently so i think that being a certain size just because it's in is just stupid!

  6. I think its on the way out.. healthy is on the way in, different body types are all being considered, like Scarlett Johanson and Tyra Banks are examples of beautiful famous women who aren't exactly the waifer-thin beauties we had running around 10 years ago, like Ally Mcbeal.

  7. I'm a size 0, but then again I'm only 5'0 tall and naturally petite, plus I'm 16, so I'm still a kid. I'm curvy and eat like a pig, I was just "blessed". It's actually a hassle finding jeans because most of them are too long and don't fit right.

If I were tall, I wouldn't want to be a zero, I'd rather be nice and curvy so that I could actually fill out the clothes I wear.

I think that we all have different bodies and we shouldn't have to fit a mold. If you happen to be a size zero, that's great, but you should wear what's comfortable and what fits.

  8. what trend...some people are skinny and some are not. the people who aren't skinny want to be. i used to be a zero and now I'm up to a 3 and hate it!! when your that skinny you constantly get noticed for being skinny now i just feel average.

once you begin to gain weight everyone thinks that they have the right to say something about it and that's probably why some many girls are anorexic.. they pride themselves on being skinny and when they finally decide its ok to gain weight everyone around them starts making comments like "whoa your packing on the pounds" and yet your still half the size of the person making the comment .you cant win from losing when its comes to weight.

  9. im naturally a size zero, why is there a problem. im thin. my whole families thin. we're not gonna eat just so we arent?!?!?! sooo... i dont think there's anything wrong with being a size zero, people say its unhealthy, im as healthy as can be (:

  10. i was at a concert the other day and saw all these emaciated looking girls. and i wasn't mad - i felt sad for them. maintaining that type of weight must be so stressful. they probably don't know the happiness of eating a frosted doughnut. a life with that much pressure cannot be a happy one.

thats of coarse unless you have high metabolism.but even then life must be a complete bummer. the pressure of keeping on what little weight you gain?

talk about two ends of the scope.

    >_<

  11. I am only 5'2" and 13, (so i hope i am not done growing!) and some people (like me) are like that way cause they are short or have a small bones, but when someone who is natrually like that forces there body I think that is wrong! Your body is a temple and you can't treat it like that!

  12. I'm not in this trend...Im size 3. :) But it doesnt bother me!

  13. I think size zero is actually horrible look. If someone is naturally tiny then it would look fine but on the average person it just makes you look anorexic and ill.

It's said that guys don't like really skinny either so what's the point? Have your curves and keep your b***s ;)

  14. uh i dont think its very good that people force themselves to be that size just to impress others. you also realise that its very bad for your health :/

  15. Horrible hun, they look emaciated.

    Good Luck. X :-)

  16. that trend has been around forever. the only difference is people are dumb enough to buy into it now. it is starting to fade a little, though. i know of some agencies that want bigger models. most of the big name brands still like the stickthin models but a lot of the other ones are starting to get models with more meat on their bones.

  17. Yeah, I'm over the "I don't eat" look.  I'm 5'3 125lbs, and I think I look great.  I'm not by any means super skinny, but at least I look like I eat.  Now, if someone can't help that they're that skinny, ie my sister, then that's a different story.  But I'm tired of Hollywood, and their obsession with being super skinny.  Eat a hamburger for god's sake!

  18. Super-ultra-skinny has never looked good, regardless of what the "trend" is.  I think women should pay less attention to what fashion magazines say and more to what men actually think.  There is no perfect weight or perfect size; it's all about proportionality and what looks good for you!  Eat healthy and exercise and don't worry about how many inches your waist is or whether you put on five pounds over the weekend.  You'll be much happier for it and will soon realize that weight and size "trends" are more collective hysteria than based on what is or is not actually attractive to actual people.

  19. i think its funny that everyone commenting on this that they think its stupid but then include that they are "petite" or "am a zero" or "small like me"

  20. It's stupid!

I'm a size 10 (uk sizes, not american) and I look normal weight, I'm weird build though, sorta masculine with a little little bit of petiteness thrown in there. Whatever about people being naturally skinny, that's absolutely normal! It's their build! But with people starving themselves?! Not good. You can't enjoy a single meal, it's like punishing yourself~there's something wrong with me so I can't eat this. They must feel terrible! Anyway guys mustn't find it attractive. Can you imagine hugging something feeling bones and stuff?! Plus when your going out for meals together, won't it be strange looking leaving over half your meal there. He'd think somethings up.

So really size zero is a no go(unless of course it's natural for you). It could seriously affect your health in the long term. Your organs could shut down and that's fatal. Also your period could stop and never come back~resulting in infertility. Now that's something I couldn't live without. My own child.

  21. I hate it people can die from anorexia, just because they want to be skinny.

  22. I don't like it. I'm tired of weighing 98 pounds, trying on a size medium at a store and it fits like an XS.

  23. i like the size healthy better

  24. I think that we need a new trend.

Everyone wants to be super skinny and they look gross. There is no need to be super skinny. Being a size 5 or 9 is fine. Its HEALTHY!!

  25. I don't really care unless people honestly go to such lengths just to be that size. Women come in all beautiful shapes and sizes.

  26. im a size zero ive always been i dont look emaciated like someone above commented some girls are just naturally thin. I look really good like this so for me its not a trend its just me.

  27. I don't think it would be such a big deal that girls skip out on a few meals, if so many people weren't adding a few meals on.

  28. Zero isn't a size; it's a warning sign.

    I'm proud to have curves.

I'm not saying that people who are

naturally a size zero are unhealthy,

but for those girls who are starving themselves to be a

size zero, eat a burger and get a life.

Because when you starve yourself, you don't look pretty anyway.

  29. ... I didn't know that but I am 13 4'10" and a half so I am a size 00 or 0. Not because it's the trend, that I didn't know about. I am naturally petite. So my opinion doesn't count. But, it does discuss me. I think my one friend is anorexic and I am scared. She used to be a size 3-4 pants and is now 0. :( I don't know what to do.

  30. I'm 13 and wear a size 0 my friends are are like your so lucky your "skinny". it bothers me. It just bothers me how girls think they have to be"skinny" to be pretty. It's disgusting!!

P.S. not trying to flaunt my size!

  31. I think that it is sad that girls think they have to be a certain size to be beautiful. Personally, I think girls that wear a size zero aren't as stylish-looking as girls who stick to their average size. Some people say I'm thin, but I'm not a size zero, and I'm okay with it! I still feel pretty when I think about the clothes that would look good on me with my body shape. It takes more sense of fashion to wear clothes that aren't like what every other twig (no offense size zero gals!) is wearing. There is enough pressure in other aspects of life, there shouldn't be one to look like an anorexic model who doesn't look good in most clothes that normal people wear. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, but that's just how I feel!
