  1. This is science and what counts is the data.

"I wasn’t convinced by a person or any interest group—it was the data that got me. I was utterly convinced of this connection between the burning of fossil fuels and climate change. And I was convinced that if we didn’t do something about this, we would be in deep trouble.”

Vice Admiral Richard H. Truly, USN (Ret.)

Former NASA Administrator, Shuttle Astronaut and the first Commander of the Naval Space Command

Here are two summaries of the mountain of data that convinced Admiral Truly, short and long.

    It's (mostly) not the sun:

    http://www.stopglobalwarming.org/sgw_act...

And the first graph aboves shows that the sun is responsible for about 10% of it.  When someone says it's the sun they're saying that thousands of climatologists are stupid and don't look at the solar data.  That's ridiculous.

Science is quite good about exposing bad science or hoaxes:

There's a large number of people who agree that it is real and mostly caused by us, who are not liberals, environmentalists, stupid, or conceivably part of a "conspiracy".  Just three examples of many:

"Global warming is real, now, and it must be addressed."

    Lee Scott, CEO, Wal-Mart

"Our nation has both an obligation and self-interest in facing head-on the serious environmental, economic and national security threat posed by global warming."

    Senator John McCain, Republican, Arizona

“DuPont believes that action is warranted, not further debate."

Charles O. Holliday, Jr., CEO, DuPont

There's a lot less controversy about this is the real world than there is on Yahoo answers:

    http://www.worldpublicopinion.org/pipa/a...

And vastly less controversy in the scientific community than you might guess from the few skeptics talked about here:

    http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/fu... and:

"There's a better scientific consensus on this [climate change] than on any issue I know - except maybe Newton's second law of dynamics.  Global warming is almost a no-brainer at this point,You really can't find intelligent, quantitative arguments to make it go away."

    Jerry Mahlman, NOAA

    "climate science from climate scientists"

One way you can help is not obvious, but it's very important.

Educate yourself on global warming so that you can refute the silly arguments of the skeptics.  Here's are two excellent places to start, short and long:

    http://profend.com/global-warming/

People may say that fighting global warming is just a way to take money from people.  Read this article:

    http://www.spiegel.de/international/worl...

and point out to people that it will cost them far less to reduce global warming than to deal with the consequences.

Become a source of knowledge about global warming and spread that knowledge.  Fight the ignorance about this issue.

Here's a good book to help you:

  2. it can kiss my ***!!!!

  3. I think your falling for the bull story. Global Warming is a fabricated farce meant to gain more controls by the envorionmental wacko's. All that means is we can do less while we pay more. If these nut jobs really cared about the environment they would be petitioning congress to ban trucks unless absolutely neccessary and promoting the nations railroads. Instead the exact opposite is happening.

  4. It's not caused by humanity and there is really nothing we can do about it.  The planet has been through much more extreme climate shifts, volcanoes, earthquakes, meteor strikes.. and it's survived just fine.  We aren't a threat to it... all we can do is kill ourselves.

  5. Yes, we should begin to reverse the process of destruction. Science has to win out over politics.

  6. Global warming is an alarming situation that is ignored by Pres. Bush.

  7. I think we should start doing something about global warming as soon as possible. People need to be educated on the destruction that is causing this phenomenon. We need to do something before it is too late.

People need to realize that our health is in danger- with the increasing UV rays (there is less ozone to block the harmful UV rays, thus increasing the chances of skin cancer and melanoma) and more people are at risk for skin cancer.

Animals such as the polar bear and penguin will go extinct if all  the ice caps melt. Ice is a necessity for them. The only way we will be able to save the species then is to keep them in zoos.  No longer will they be able to be in their natural habitat.

It's not that hard to change the cars that we drive to more enviornmentally friendly ones or biofuel cars. It might be more expensive, but it will not only help us, it will help others in future  generations.

I agree. We need to start reversing global warming now.

  8. i think v can for sure live without AC(S).

  9. i think you're buying into the lies

  10. I agree. Even though global warming is natural, people have speeded up the process to much. People need to realize it is a major issue and try to help. If everyone has the same attitude toward global warming then the problem will be solved sooner. I think that the world needs to stop sitting back and leaving the problem to the next generation. I say take action asap!
