What do you Honestly think about...?

Question

Women with tattoos.

I'm sure some will tell me I should be asking this in the Beauty&Style section but I specifically wanted my answers for those in GWS.

I see a vast majority of sterotypes directed at women with body art, more so than with men.

So, what do you guys think?

I think tattoos are absolutely ghastly on either s*x.

With all the stereotypes there are out there, most of the first answerers show their own opinion,which, of course, is what you asked for.. I've heard tattoos on the lower back referred to as 'tramp stamps', and, I don't really like them, butttt, I guess it's all up to the person getting the tat.. after all, they are the ones who have to live with it, and, in the cases of those who get something semi-lewd on themselves, in a viewable area, eventually, they're going to have to explain it to their kids..

still.. it's their choice.. fortunately, my wife is not tattooed, and has no plans for them.. I'm not either, and I'm an ex-navyman of 18 years.

I think tattoos look great in moderation. I don't like to see people - of either gender - covered in them, but a couple of meaningful and artistic ones are fine. I plan to get a tattoo in the future, but I'm still deciding on my design.

Tattoos have become much more mainstream now, which seems to have diluted the stereotypes a bit.

It's pretty common.  I guess I don't think much of anything about it.  

Tattoos are not for me because I just know I'd change my mind after getting them, and I worry about how they will look years later, not because I feel that having tattoos or not makes you a fundamentally different sort of person.

I personally never wanted to get one.  But I'm not against it.  There are definitely some negative assumptions associated with a woman who has tattoos.  Especially if they are large tattoos..........

Well, I'm desensitized to it now, for sure.  I've seen women from every point on the racial, socioeconomic map with ink, and across a wide age range as well, I'd say from 18 to 60+.

I've just come to the conclusion that it's a personal decision, based on fashion, beliefs, personality, et.al.

I guess I honestly think those women are OK.

Tattoos in the right place - ones that make the skin around it look extremely fair - are HAWT.

They are beautiful and spiritual body arts. But I get the feeling that across the pond in America people are very derrogative about them. Wierdos!

I think that tattoos on the arms of women look stupid and make them look like their all butch and whatnot. I think that small tattoos on women are pretty, though.

I do not like tattoos at all on anyone!  I think that it is ridiculous to permanently mark on your skin, no matter what it's a picture of!  I wouldnt get a tattoo if Moses and the Ten Disciples knocked on my door & said it was my only way to heaven!  And to see SENIORS with tattoos looks grose.

I think tattoos can look nice, I have one.  I think it really depends on the rest of the persons appearance.  A normal looking woman with a few tattoos here and there, is just fine and it's interesting to check out the tattoos and find out what they mean to them, even sleeves of artwork can look nice.

But a woman with dyed hair, piercings, dark eye makeup AND loads of tattoos covering her from head to toe just makes them look troubled or disturbed.

I hate seeing tattoos on people. That's just a way to draw attention to yourself. I think it's very immature.

again...i have many. they are beautiful. they each have special meanings to me and i do not look ghastly. i wish people wouldn't judge so much. now, THAT is unattractive.
