What do you Leafs fans think of Boyd Devereaux?

After all this waiving of players by the Leafs, I can't help but think of Devereaux... I am a Wings fan and really did not like him on the Wings. He had stone hands and sucked horribly. He was only on the team for speed and he was easy on the wallet. I can't tell you how many times my friends and I cursed his play.

So anyway, I don't get to see any Leafs games and am just wondering if he is still frustrating to watch.

  1. i mean compared to other leafs players.. hes not the worst.  but  i dont think hes that great of a player.  hes decent for the leafs like 3rd/4th line ish.. which isnt saying alot.

  2. I dont think much of him. He isn't a fabulous player but he dosent suck that bad. He has made his mistakes in the past and he hasnt made up for them. but i think he is ok!

  3. With the Leafs in a rebuilding mode. They still have to put a team on the ice. Boyd Devereaux earning a touch over minimum isn't a bad fit.

The buyouts have ended. Kubina can be traded. There will be an upside to another team taking McCabe. With a high cap hit and lower paycheque. Need to make the Bottom cap without spending money, we've got a deal. The fact that Tucker was bought out this year may help Brian make up his mind this year.

Look to Leafs to only sign under 30's under a Mill if they sign any FA's at all. The Nation wants Tavares. Let's see how happy this makes them.

It might have been a bad draft LITY from a scoring point of view. But I'd take the defence any day. Phillips, Chara, Kaberle, and Kubina. aren't bad for a start. Rick Jackman ain't a bad number 5.

  4. Dew it's easy to see and easy to say B Dev hasn't done much since his departure. I think he was injured last year, and is still gun-shy from his prev. concussion and hasn't been able to get his touch back, if he had any to begin with).

  5. Devereaux is a serviceable forward at best, and he would have trouble making a lot of teams in the NHL now.  He was a much ballyhooed forward, drafted 6th overall, gold medalist with the Canadian Juniors in 1997, and people had high hopes him

Note: The 1996 draft has produced only ONE player with 500 career points - it was a BAD draft.

He's on the wrong side of 30, and doesn't bring any intangibles to any team.  He's not a top 2 line forward, he's not a checker extraordinaire, and he's rather expensive for a 4th liner for most teams.
