I think Arcadio is unique and it is cute.  It sounds like a nice strong Spanish/Greek name to me.  I like it if you like go for it.  Maybe if your partner does not like it let him pick a more common middle name then when your son is old enough he can chose to go by this awesome powerful name Arcadio or his middle name John perhaps.  Arcadio John.  If you like it do it, I love it.

  3. Only name your child that if it is a part of your cultural/familial heritage. It sounds silly otherwise, in my opinion. Like "Fabio".

  5. No really - studies have shown that people given unusual names do not do as well in life as people with normal names. Did you not see the news story recently where a girl took her parents to court to get her name changed legally it was in new zealand.

I agree with everyone else.  More information is needed here.  Is this an ethnic name or just a name you randomly made up?  If it has some sort of symbolism or meaning behind it, then it wouldn't be so bad.  However, if you just made the name up, you might have a hard time explaining to your child when he is a teenager that there is no rhyme or reason to his name when he gets teased daily because his name is so very different.  In the end, it's up to you, but keep in mind, he'll be stuck with it forever, so be merciful. :-)
