The only coffee that I have ever tasted is a vanilla latte from Starbucks. I want to start making coffee at home but I don't know what kind to buy and what to add to it to make it taste good (creamer, sugar, etc.)?

  1. i do a spoon of instant coffee and a spoon(heaping) of instant hot chocolate(with marshmellos) a little sugar and some milk to top it off.  a friend of mine uses honey instead of sugar!

  2. foldgers is good coffee, then use one or a variety of creamers and maybe some milk, try to stay away from sugars

  3. Sugar:) Cream:) Vanilla:) Yum:)

  4. I love flavored creamers.

    hazelnut

    southern pecan

    whipped cream

    raw sugar

You can also buy the flavored syrups for your coffee.

Some brands sell the small sample packs for around a $1.00, experiment with some of those.

  5. the best coffee you'll tastes is from fresh roasted beans, not beans that have been sitting on a shelf.

Check your local coffee house, and they'll usually have good beans for you that are pretty fresh (coffee beans start going stale after two weeks!)

And as for making it, usually its about 3 scoops of ground coffee (most coffee makers come with a measuring scoop) per cup of coffee (not actual drinking cup, cup as shown on the little coffee carafe)

I have to say, those flavored creamers on the market, like coffeemate, are really tasty, but they're horrid for your heath. Try using chocolate syrup and milk if you want a simple mocha.l

and if you like the vanilla latte at starbucks, try buying yourself vanilla flavored syrup (Torelli's the brand they use at starbucks, alot of Safeway/Vons/Pavillions stores have it) and milk :)_

  6. HI:

I have found that if I buy the beans from the store, grind them when ready to have a cup of joe, the grind depends on your coffee maker, I have a drip, so I usually grind my extra fine, and to cut the bitterness, I add half and half (nothing else will do!) Walla! I guess I'm a little bit of a coffee snob, so I'm very picky.

    Good luck!

  7. use a french vanilla creamer like coffee mate. you dont need extra sugar either

    makes coffee so much better!

  8. Walla? What the h**l is walla? Is it like voila?

The best coffee comes from a coffeemaker that's kept clean. Coffee has volatile oils that become bitter if allowed to accumulate in the coffeemaker. Once a month, fill the resevoir with half water and half white vinegar and run it through the cycle. Twice.

  9. The quality of the coffee and the flavor you get depends directly on the quality of the roasting process and how fresh it is, both when you grind it and then when you brew it and drink it. So I have it delivered every month. I enjoy the French vanilla flavor most, and Don Francisco has a wide choice of flavors and excellent coffees.

  10. I use a hazel nut creamer by coffee mate and a little sugar.  I also like flavored coffee by Gevalia.

  11. I make hot chocolate with coffee instead of water and a piece of peppermint.

  12. sugar cream possibly vanilla like the other dude said but most definatly them two. try buying the ones that come in like the variety pack so you find out what you like

  13. You need to start with a good, high quality coffee.  This will take some trial and error on your part, but it's worth the effort.

I like to add a little maple syrup and cream, myself.
