Who else thinks Feminism isn't needed in modern day American society?

I think that the feminists lobbied for equal rights, got them, and even got women favored over men in the legal and moral systems.

What do you all think?

  1. Feminism as an idea has many basic good points.

As an ideology it is twisted and hostile towards males in a scale unseen since the n**i's ruled over Europe.

Feminist's are the gestapo agents of the ideology and should be treated like the criminals they are.

    ---------------------

I am sure both men and women each have our own unique problems. But us guy's problems are not only ignored but feminist's take great pains to stop public debate and even try to rationalize why it is unimportant.

The suicide rate for males is way higher, depending on the age group for every 4 women that commit suicide 40 men have already committed suicide.

It is enough of a problem that Australia is taking it seriously(that country is starting to weakening the bonds of feminist slavery or rather feminist totalitarianism).

The fact that the government spends billions more on women's health research.

Or the fact of the wide spread paternity fraud epidemic.

Or the fact the male victims of sexual abuse are ignored.

The list of inequalities goes on and on. As far as I am concerned in the 21st century feminist's are the oppressors.

And according to feminist ideology it is not only the correct thing but the just thing to demonize ones oppressors.

  2. I see answers that say feminists are criminal man haters and likened to the n***s.  So now we have men on the defensive and it's gone all lop-sided again.

I would maybe agree with you but does that mean a woman can walk safely down the street without the fear of harrassment, rape, kidnapping or murder?  No and the same goes for a man walking down the street.  Both genders still have issues.

  3. The first or early feminism was alright/good but right now it's an abomination and has gone radical

See for example this difference http://wwww.abortiontv.com/Misc/Feminism...

Even Western men are seeking foreign wives because of feminism http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

  4. I think that like all things it has gone to the extreme and hopefully will come around to a happy medium eventually.

When you think about it, it's quite a lot like the child abuse issue.  People have stopped disciplining their children entirely for fear of being abusive and kids are running riot thinking the world owes them something.  When the point was to protect the child from the extreme.  I know this is a huge generalization and all of us here have perfect children but there are some rotten little beasties out there.

I am personally glad that I can go to school if I choose, that I can vote, that I am viewed as a person of worth beyond my baby making abilities.  On the other hand I still love being a woman.  I like that little bit of extra respect and kindness (opening doors etc).

Equal but different, I don't understand what's wrong with that.

  5. I agree with feminism but believe that women are financially responsible for themselves. If they want equal pay for equal work, they cannot demand a house and endless alimony in a divorce.  Unless the house is equally theirs through credit, loans and financial contributions, it isn't theirs fifty-fifty.  Alimony should only be for a woman with no source of significant income or even moderate income for a short period of time and she can't be receiving another form of financial maintenance or property from the divorce.  If she moves in with another guy or marries, it should stop.

Child support is a right and it is wrong for men to refuse to pay it.

  6. I don't think too much of it at all to tell you plain and simple.

  7. I wholeheartedly agree.  I believe that as many other movements, Feminism started out with a proper intention of advancing equality, however in the modern era this philosophy has been corrupted in the interest of advancing misandry and inter-gender divisiveness.  I see only harm that results from such a hateful ideology.

  8. The first wave was great, now it's an undesirable group, we are social animals and there is safety in numbers, dividing men and women and destroying the family is breaking up our last social grouping. We are now individual citizens who depend on the system rather than each other.

J above. thinking that we can eradicate risk, fear and violence is unrealistic. There will always be threats, even in our pampered Western societies.

Below me, how is that supposed to happen, forcing sahms to do it, or by drastically reducing the population of males?

  9. I think it's not so much legal rights that are the issue at this point for women in the west, but we have cultural assumptions that could stand to be challenged.

There also continue to be many women in this world who are living in countries where they do not have the same legal rights as men, and that is not okay with me.

  10. I am grateful to early Feminists, I am however of the opinion that Equal-ism has a better place in society in this day and age.

Kris W: can you email me please? I had an answer to your previous Q but it got deleted before I could post it. Cheers.

  11. I think most of the posters on this need to do some serious studying of history.

For a start, women in the United States didn't even have the right to vote until the 1920s. And women AND compassionate men did a LOT more than simply "lobby" for that right; some of them even died for it!

Most of the answers given here are Exhibit A of why feminism IS needed (and not just in "modern" day American society).

  12. I think feminism is a joke. God created men and women, not men and men. The feminists certainly want to become men. Why are they adopting men's hobbies and men's jobs? Why can't they see any pride in being a woman? Women are different from men but they have got qualities that men haven't got. Women are kinder, in better moods, beautiful, sympathic etc.

  13. I think feminism is necessary in todays day and age in order to help relieve the suffering of women overseas subjected to misogynistic outrages.

I also believe that if feminism 'takes a day off' men will rush to revert things back to the olden days.

  14. Feminism is nothing more than a mob of likewise psychotics getting together and rather than giving them credence we should give them derision.

I fully support all the answers except Jana's stupid answer. Men suffer more violence than women. Women are more violent to men than men are to women. Women kill and abuse vastly more children than men. In fact, once we have perfected propagation in vitro which will happen very shortly after we have cloning perfected we will no longer need women at all. We will be able to build virtually perfect female robot replicas in various models like the Elle or the Christie or the Pamela. We can then pass them down to our sons and upgrade to another model. Our sons will grow up without child abuse and be well rounded wonderful men.

Of course women can invent the same things and we will be so kind as to give them half the country (eg the desert). They can grow girls once they have perfected the science which should take women considerably less time than men have spent and since they don't need men and don't enjoy penetrative s*x they would have no need to invent a robot man.

  15. I agree. The only purpose feminism serves today is a career for feminists (universities, law, the media, and government) and an outlet for the frustrations and personal inadequacies of cranks.

  16. What do I think?  That you are paranoid and have no supprt for your allegations.  I think feminism is needed until the day half of all legislators are women, half of all CEO's are women, I think the Danes are the ones really spearheading this, and sadly we are about 1000 years behind the Danes.  So no, feminism is still very much as relevant today as it ever was.
