  1. I know EXACTLY why that vid was made.

A few years ago some study was produced saying Greeks weren't related to other European, but were direct descendants of Ethiopians. It got retracted immediately, the author eventually sacked, and it was generally slaughtered by just about every population geneticist alive, very publicly. Read it here. It also claimed that the closest genetic relationship was between the Japanese and the San Bushman.

But Afrocentrists really dug their claws into it, and started claiming it was proof all the ancient Greeks were black, and the Albanians started calling Greeks the N word.

The Greeks are almost indistinguishable from other Europeans. Sub Saharan ancestry there is only at trace levels.

  2. The video was a bit disturbing in that it seemed its main object was to prove that there was no African blood in Greeks, and somehow prove racial purity.

Dna has found a LOT of european populations actually have strong indigenous roots, even ones characterisically thought to have had many invasions, such as England, where far more DNA matches the Basques of Spain than any 'anglo Saxon'.

What i noticed too was that the video did not actually mention the actuall DNA haplogroups found in Greece. They did mention the Basques, so I am guessing a lot of Greeks are mtdna type H  (and variations). However, H is the most common haplogroup in Europe with nearly half belonging to that clan.

The whole thing about  skull sizes and so on is very dated. People used to study that in Victorian times & it's not a reliable tool for study of race as many factors over time can alter head shapes. (Modern Europeans today are generally getting longer headed!)
