What do you all think about the sprint cup drivers running in Nationwide and truck series?

I really don't think its fair for the new up and coming drivers in the nationwide series and truck series to have to face off every race against the pro of the sprint cup series.I think NASCAR should limit the amount of races that sprint drivers race in like the ARCA series. If you are in the top 20 in points you shouldn't be able to run in the other two series. I don't care if your Mark Martin, Ryan Newman, Tony Stewart, Jimmie johnson, Dale Jr., OR Jeff Gordon, Matt Kenseth, Carl Edwards, Kyle Busch, Kirk Busch, or the List can go on. The truck series has been used to the most part in the passed to help drivers start their carriers, but now we see Kyle running almost every race they have. The same in the nationwide series.

  1. It's a bit of a Catch 22 situation: the Cup drivers draw more people but the regulars in the trucks and Nationwide get overshadowed and often out driven by the Cup drivers. Last night's truck race was mostly about Jimmie Johnson driving his first truck race. And he did well for 101 laps before the truck and the track combined to do him in. He said he had a blast. Benson, Bodine, Skinner, and Hornaday had to fight all night to finish up in the standings (Hornaday's night ended early) and there was little chat about any of the 4 of them except for when they ran 2nd or 3rd. Most of the telecast was spent talking about Kyle Busch and Jimmie Johnson. It's that kind of thing that bothers me. There's all these truck drivers who are there race after race and yet let the Cup drivers show up and it's the Cup drivers that get talked about. That doesn't seem right.

BTW, I like your suggestion of limiting the amount of races a Cup driver could enter in trucks or Nationwide. Don't see it happening but I do like it.

  2. I dont think its fair for the up-and-comings.... I agree with above, like allowing pro football players to play in the high school games.  I'm also tired of hearing how Kyle Busch is dominating everything... he shouldn't be allowed to.  If you make it to Sprint Cup, you should stay in Sprint Cup only.  Just my 2 cents...

  3. it's c**p. it's like having lebron and the cavs play the duke ncaa team.

  4. nobody cares what you think

i think its a good thing

  5. I'm torn on this issue. I don't like the fact that the smaller teams, and drivers are being pushed out of the spotlight by the super-teams. And with those big teams, the Cup drivers win all the races, big paychecks, and points championships. I think there should be someway for Nascar to limit the number of races that a seasoned Cup veteran can race in the Nationwide Series. Say after three full-time seasons in Cup you can only run 10 races per season in the Nationwide Series. I really don't see this being to big of a problem in the Truck Series.

But on the opposite side of the coin, is it right to stop a driver from bettering himself in the long run. Take Kevin Harvick, he would be punished if they were to limit the Cup drivers. He has formed his own team, and really wants it to flourish into a championship contender. Obviously having him driving in his own equipment will help toward that goal. Plus all drivers that drive their own stuff want to win in it more than anything. Is it right to stifle that dream, probably not.

  6. It's kind of like letting NFL teams play high school football.

I don't think it should be allowed.

Or, limit it so they can't race for championship points.

Declare a division, and you can only go for the championship in that division.

  7. I think that the random driver helps draw a crowd but it is tiring to see the cup regulars run so much.

  8. its not a great idea i hate seeing stephen leicht not even be able to get a full time nationwide ride and hes finished 7th in nationwide standings before its a load of c**p but sponsors pay the bills.

  9. I don't like it but I know why it happens. Sponsors. Aric Amirola qualified and started a Denny Hamlin car for him in a race last year. The sponsor (Rockwell) demanded that Denny get in the car when he arrived at the track even though Amirola qualified, practiced and started the race in the car. Money is the reason the big names drive in the lower series.
