As I posted on Dallas. I am a single Christian African American mom with two kids ages 8 and 16.

We are looking to move to Texas from Michigan. I have been unemployed since March.

I am looking a safe very affordable place for us to live that's near public transportation in a mixed area.

I have found some good employment opportunities in Austin, Dallas, and FT Worth.

I want to really just work, have the schools, the church, and shopping in the same area with public transportation near by.

I would only drive on weekends only.

Due to the poor encomny in michigan I turned my vehicle in.

I live in a area without public transportation near by I live in a suburban middle class area.

Somebody Please Help Me.

I Have To Escape From Michigan It's Like Jail I Guess. Help Me.

  1. Do you mean the Villages AT Lamar?  Right off of Lamar and Denson Ave area?

I lived in their bldg #2 a couple of years ago.  Honestly, it was not the greatest, there were quite a few trashy people living there and people who would hang out in the parking lot drinking and listening to tejano music.  There was at least one car break-in while I lived there, and my apartment smelled like cat p**s, I think the whole complex had a roach problem, and the stairs leading up to my floor were pretty precarious.  That said, it was a pretty decent area (close to a lot of stuff, and right on the #1 bus, which is one of the most active bus routes in the city), and it was very cheap!  (I paid 475 for a 2/2, but they cut me a deal since I agreed to lease a 1/1, then they realized they didn't have one, and it was a couple years ago when rents all over town were cheaper - i'm not sure what it rents for nowadays).

You might want to take a look at a complex called Fort Branch at Trumans Landing if it's in your price range, it seems pretty nice, it's a newer complex and there's lots of buses in the area, as well as churches and the elementary school is literally right across the street.
