  1. Crate and Barrel is kind of expensive, but they have this awesome bridal gift registry guide.  It gives you really great ideas and suggestions.  Page by page shows you what every house hold should have and the reasons for it.  Visit this website to request it by mail; best part, it's FREE!!!

  2. If you go to a good department store they will tell you what most people register for and give you tips.  Such as, you should register for something from multiple price categories, because some people like to buy small gifts, others like to pay more, and often groups of people like to chip in for something big.

We registered for dishes, and cooking utensils so far.  Our wedding is a ways off so we're waiting on things like table linens, bedding, towels, etc.

A lot of times couples register for tools (for the men), or maybe if you're outdoorsy or have hobbies you could register for bikes, or travel vouchers, or season tix to the symphony or something.

My cousin registered for ju-jubes, lol.  And yes, we got him some.

Bottom line:  ask for things you need or want, if people don't "approve" or don't want to get you that specific item, they just won't.  It's good to register at one place that carries LOTS of things you like, because you'll could get lots of gift cards to that store.

Bring your fiance and have a good time!  It's super fun!

  3. basic linens....sheets, towels, maybe a comforter set (it gives something for people who want to get you something big an option)

    basic kitchenwares....baking dishes, cooking utensils

tableware.....some go for fine china and silverware, but it's more practical to pick a nice everyday pattern in a nice stoneware with some decent place settings

Other than that....pick out some platters, small appliances like coffee makers and toasters, placemats, etc.

And keep your guest's budget in mind....nothing irks guests more than to see a bridal registry where a single plate costs $80.  You'll get more of what you need to start your household if you register for nice but relatively inexpensive items.

  4. Usually the Major ones you ask for is new china and bedding. But my husband and I asked for things we actually wanted. Like an Ice cream maker! :)

  5. Things like bedding, small appliances, dishes, wine glasses, bathroom sets and towels...I have also seen movies, games, tools, BBQs

  6. Kitchen items, china, towels, bedding, home accents.

Beyond that, its really up to the couple. Dont make waffles on the weekend? Then dont register for a waffle iron. Like wine but dont have a proper set of glasses? Register for that. I dont think those catch-all registry lists do anyone much good. Take a look at whats in the stores, and figure out what YOU need and want.

Then make sure there is a nice variety on the list, from low-priced to mid- and high-priced items.

  7. Kitchen things are probably the main items on a wedding registry.  Pots & Pans, Dishes, Glassware, electric appliances, serving pieces, gagets and utensils, bakeware, etc.  Linens are probably the second most registered for items:  sheets, towels, blankets, etc.

  8. Basically stuff for the kitchen,bedroom sheets,bathroom stuff like rugs,toilet cover,shower curtain,soap dish,towels,living room stuff,maybe a t.v.stand,dvd movie stand,I pod radio,digital photoframe,Picture frames.

  9. Sheets, towels, small appliances, china, cutlery, glassware. Basic home stuff that you will both use.. NEVER ask for expensive items that you know your guests can not afford. NEVER ask for cash that is the most tacky thing ever.
