What do you believe America could or should do to put an end to poverty, in OUR country?

Lmao. The LAST thing we need is more government 'assistance.' If people are going to receive assistance and be able to sit on their derrière they should be required to repay all of that debt and it should go back to the taxpayers. I don't understand why I HAVE to pay for medical/medicare (whatever is taken out of my check) yet I don't have insurance??!? I don't understand it...

In society you count on people to fail in order to be "successful". It's all about competition. Otherwise we can just turn into an unmotivated country under Communism where nobody feels the need to strive for excellence. I agree poverty is not a good thing but most people that are in poverty don't do much to get out of poverty.

Amercia is not trustable country or men as they work only for their own, they are quite selfish and always make the policey thru which gives all benefits for their own people. And in world we need a special model in which all poples work and live together with peace and everybody gets all facility which used by rich peoples. All political parties around the world does the work only for riches.

We cannot end poverty until we discover the cure for laziness. In most cases, people are poor because of bad decisions in their lives or just plain laziness. This country will provide anyone with nearly any opportunity, this includes the opportunity to fail or become a drug addict, maybe an alcoholic. The opportunities in America are endless, it just depends which ones each individual decides to pursue. We as a society cannot accept the blame for the decisions of individuals.

It should have more government assistance.  This would mean the government would have to have more money so the best way to do that is to raise taxes.  I don't mean for everyone but people in a higher tax bracket should pay a higher percentage of tax than they do.  

Although too late now it could have saved the money used on a useless war and gave it to people in need.
