  1. They are all important!  Most have been abused and ignored by the Republicans.  Under Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

The government forbids T-Shirt, signs, banners or any other form of dissent whenever Bush speaks.  They set up a pin (Like you pin animals)  far away from the cameras.  They have continually attempted to push their religion down everyone's throats (Vouchers, funding for free health clinics etc...).  As far as petitioning the government for redress of the people, they will not even respond to subpoenas from Congress that speaks for the people, much less respond to us!

The Third Amendment really does not apply any more.

The Fourth Amendment; The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Has been destroyed by the Patriot Act.  The government can do anything it wants for any reason.  They do not need "Reasonable Cause"  They just do what they want to.

The 5th -10th Amendments do not apply due to the Patriot Act,  from torture to secret courts that hold people indefinitely without any charges.  The 10th gives any Powers not regulated by the Constitution and the States to the people and the Patriot Act takes it right back!!!!

We need to elect a President and a Congress that will restore the rights of the Constitution!

The right to bear arms has been misapplied.  It states "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."  What they meant was we had a right to bear arms to create a well-regulated militia.  So unless you are a member of a well-regulated militia you do not have the right to bear arms.

  2. There are far more than ten "points" in the Bill of Rights.  The First Amendment alone addresses freedom of speech, freedom of the press, free exercise of religion, freedom from government establishment of religion, and freedom of assembly.

Perhaps the most important liberties in the Bill of Rights are

    1. The liberties of expression in the First Amendment.

    2. The procedural and substantive due process liberties in the Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, and Eighth Amendments.

    3. The privacy rights implied in the Bill of Rights.

What these protections mean (or should mean) for the people is that we are free from unreasonable interference by the government.  We are to be alone, unless our behavior justifies the governments action against us.  And even then, the government must prove its actions are justified.
