  1. Hi

I Think it is the Eurostar train.

The train from London St Pancras to Gare du Nord in Paris via the Channel Tunnel.

It is really fast (300Km/h), only takes 2hours 15min.

And the train looks very nice as well.

It is also an engineering feat as the train had to run via three different countries (UK, Belgium and France) at the beginning when it was based at London Waterloo, they used 3 types of current!

  2. I caught the Loreley Express (Hook of Holland-Basle) some years ago. A beautiful journey down the Rhine, luxurious, comfy carriages and a well-stocked buffet car.

The other train that definitely gets my vote is the old Pines Express. I travelled on the northern portion, from Birmingham New Street to Bath (Green Park) but to my regret, never made the southern portion from Bath (Green Park) to Bournemouth (West).

Thanks to the late Ivo Peters this much-missed train has been captured on film, to the delight of enthusiasts everywhere.
