My husband and I are having a hard time figuring out what to get our daughter for her first birthday. Her grandma got her a little rc tricycle thing which is what we were thinking about getting her. Our other thought was a kitchen play set. But we wanted to get her more than just that. Oh yeah, and we thought about some out-side toys, but live where it snows quite a bit in the winter, so she'd only be able to really enjoy it durring the summer. Does anyone have any ideas? We're clueless.

Thanks in advance!

  1. get her something that looks intersting for a kid to play with or go shopping with sombody who has gone threw and had a one year old kid

  2. The child will never remember. The celebration is more for the parents and family. So the gift, in my opinion should be a savings account started for the child. It makes more sense. You can add to the account on each birthday. Then as the child reaches the age when they will begin to remember birthdays you can add gifts that will be remembered. When the child reaches the 18th birthday, you can present them with a nice monetary gift.

  3. We bought each of our kids an upholstered chair/rocker for their 1st birthdays.  They used them for years and as they outgrow them, they will be stored in the attic for them someday for their kids.

  4. Just know she will never remember what she got on her first birthday.  The best thing to get her is to open a saving account or college fund for her and invest in her future.  Let friends and family purchase the toys, use the money you would have bought toys with and save it for when she will NEED it.  She will be thankful for it later in life!

  5. i think the kitchen set is perfect! my daughter loves hers! you could also get a swingset. they have a plastic one at toys r us that has a slide and a baby swing. liitle tykes also has a small slide that she might like. it can be inside or out. ours is inside. good luck! hope she has a great 1st bday!

  6. i bought my daughter (16 months) a fisher price toy, its a chair and it has a book and lamp attached to it and when she sits on the seat the little lamp lighhts up and plays music and it plays the alphabet when you turn the book, so cute and my daughter loves it, you can get it at walmart for around $40 great toy.

  7. for my sons 1st bday i got him a power wheels 4wheeler.  they go by push button, and are made 4 babys 12-36 months.  he LOVES it!  they are smaller, check em out...

  8. If she is not walking yet, there are these things made for kids that they push, but it also helps them balance while they learn to walk.

When our youngest daughter was one an aunt/uncle gave her  this Winne the Pooh thing that she pushed and walked behind and she loved it.  These can be outside and inside toys.

And books.  Buy books and read them to her.  We read to our kids religiously every night from the time they were a baby, now they are 10 and 13 and both avid readers.

  9. For my daughters first birthday we bought her this blow up castle   that has about fifty balls in it. It is not very big, and easy to pull from room to room. I bought it from toys r us, and paid about $40 can. She loved it. Played with it non stop. Our money was well spent on that one!
