  1. Sorry dude, never heard of it.

The only thing that sounds similiar is a semi-automatic transmission.

  2. naming rights are with the car manufacturers, some call it steptronic, sports gear, etc

  3. an oxymoron, no such critter. they make standards with computer controled clutches so you can shift without having to push in clutch and they make automatics that can behave like a standard by letting you control the gear selection if you choose. they even make an automatic that has 3 functions, slap-shift, sport shift (shifts like an aggressive standard driver with none of the driver timing), and regular D auto.

BTW there is no such thing as a standard with no clutch. The auto clutch manual is mostly found in 18 wheelers. You only use the clutch to stop or go from forward to reverse.

  4. Non-existent.  You are thinking of an automatic with a manual mode, which has different names depending on who makes it, such as Manu-matic.

  5. Step tronic, triptronic, sequential

depends on car manufacturer they call it different names as a nick name to a new product for marketing and to give each brand a personality

it's a manual gearbox with no clutch and also have the option to convert it to automatic mode when u don't have to use the stick while driving forward

some cars like Porsche do make the shifting in the driving wheel so u can control everything without a need to move ur hand to the stick!!!!
