  1. Called a kaleidoscope.  Or swarm.  Or even a rabble.  I got this from <amazingbutterflystore.com>  I feel that an old name they had a hundred or two hundred years ago should be what they are called now, which was a flutterby.


  2. According to the NABA there isn't one specific one that is used. However, I have seen and heard "flutter" of butterflies used quite a lot.

  3. a swarm?  I think a swarm applies to any insect.
