What do you call a parent who put others on a pastel and don't give a d**n about their own child?

I just wanted to pose this to anyone who is brave to answer this question.

Now, when I was a kid coming up, my mother would put my step dad and her other grand child on a pastel and left me to fend for myself emotionally. I am not whining like a brat, but I just want to know what someone call this type of behavior, because this caused my sister and brother, don't want to do anything with her now.

Thanks

  1. take her some place and just talk to her by yourself she'll listen

  2. it hurts not being a favorite.  been there

  3. definition of pastel:a kind of dried paste made of pigments ground with chalk and compounded with gum water.

I don't think your mother put her stepfather on dried paste.

    However,

idiom of pedestal: set or put on a pedestal, to glorify; idealize.

    that sounds about right.

  4. -The word is PEDESTAL.

-And your parents demonstrate FAVORITISM towards your other siblings, and heneforth treat you like a  loser (even though you may not be one).

-This can happen  in family situations, and you have to realize that you are worth a lot, and that you are actually more salient in the family than you actually imagine.

Cheer up and don't let this situation get to you! Don't resent your family, and show them how much you are worth!!

  5. The word is PEDESTAL. It refers to a type of decorative stand on which you would put something on display.

I can't really tell what kind of an answer you're looking for. If you feel that you were neglected as a child, maybe you should sit down with your mother and discuss it.

Take heart. We all get two chances to make a good parent/child relationship. Just put your effort into making one with your kids.
