I am very creative, have been into creative writing, art, marketing, and project layouts since grade 5. I would even beg my teachers to let me do my projects on posterboards so I could add lotsa artsy falre to them and would stay up to 2am on a school night to finish them. I want to work for a magazine and am going to school to do so but I was wondering what the job title of someone who comes up with the ideas and layout for a magazine is called? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanx! p.s If anyone does this for a job do you enjoy it?

  1. The person who creates the style and design of the overall magazine would be the Art Director. They create templates for page designers to follow.

Creating a unique style is challenging. You need to keep consistency throughout, with the same fonts and layouts.

You might want to Google The Society of News Design and look at some of the award-winning designs for newspapers and magazines on their site. It should give you even more inspiration.

    Good luck.

  2. I am a journalist at my high school. My best friend is a "brain". That is what our school calls the position you are talking about.Hope I helped!!!!
