  1. An Egyptologist.

Hieroglyphics are taught in Egyptology courses, which is a specialization within the Anthropology department.  There are many courses in the department to choose from, so not all anthropologists choose to learn hieroglyphics.  Archaeology is another specialization within the department.

  2. Linguistic Anthropologist

  3. Not all hieroglyphs are found in Egypt.  They are also found on Aztec and Mayan pyramids, in Mesoptamian ruins, and on Assyrian Ziggarauts.  Linguists can be highly specialized in all the various glyphs.

  4. Egyptologist

  5. Either an archeologist or an anthropologist.
