  2. A person who specialize is rocks (as opposed to geology in general) is a petrologist.  One that specializes in minerals is a mineralogist.  If their specialty is going places and finding new ore deposits, they might be an exploration geologist.  More informally, they are a prospector.

    Nah, it is a geologist. There are different titles for different specialities with in geology.

    If they know about gold and silver then the speciality would be an economic geologist.

    It is also a fact that Greek lawyers were considered to work at eartly tasks so they too were called geologists.
