What do you call people who discover shipwrecks? I know its called "Ocean----- something i dont remember?

  1. Some are Marine Archaeologist, who specialize in Underwater Archaeology, but they are not looking for shipwrecks with sunken treasure. They are studying the shipwrecks, marine life, the reefs and the ecosystem of the oceans & rivers and how better to protect them for future generations.

    Then there are the salvagers.

    One man, Mel Fisher, who discovered the treasure of the Atocha (and others), off the coast of Key West, Florida, did not have degree in Underwater Archaeology. He was an average man, searching for his dream, so he became a salvager.
