  1. hi there i'm a student currently studying abt chromosomes and i know all about it

well your question isn't very complete but i'll give u 2 types of answers.

U asked wat do we call ppl with 47 chromosomes, well it actually depends where the extra chromosome is.There's 2 categories, autosomal chromosomes(all the chromosomes except ur s*x chromosomes) and s*x-linked chromosomes

    autosomal chromosomes:

Well if the person have 47 chromosomes and its not at the s*x-linked chromosome(ie autosomal chromosomes)there are a few names for these symptoms.these are the following

    trisomy 21(3 chromosomes):down syndrome

trisomy 13:pautu syndrom(children with this syndrome rarely live pass the age of 1)

trisomy 18:edward syndrome(children with this syndrome rarely live pass the age of 1)

well there are a lot more of these u could find all these info at google if u type in trisomy condition in e search engine

    s*x-linked chromosome:

well there are only a few conditions for ppl having 47 chromosomes if it is at the s*x chromosomes

well all normal ppl have s*x chromosome of XX and XY gals and guys respectively but ppl with 47 chromosomes have these type of chromosomes

XXY:Klinfelter syndrome,ie half guy and half women

    x*x:normal female,ie super women

    XYY:normal male

    XO:turner syndrome,ie not a fully developed women

so u see there a few names u can call ppl with 47 chromosomes, hope it clears ur doubts

  2. The general term for having an unusual number of chromosomes is aneuploid, but this can mean having too many, or two few. When the person has one extra chromosome, the term is trisomy. Usually this is given with the number of the chromosome involved; i.e. trisomy 21, which is Down's syndrome. Generally trisomies are rare since they produce such massive defects in almost all organ systems that few are born alive or survive for any length of time. The one exception is having an additional X chromosome (x*x or XXY) since the additional copies are inactivated and have relatively little effect.
