those pictures/patterns that when you defocus your eyes and move the picture away from you while focusing your eyes, the appear 3-D. e.g. I have this one with Egyptian heiroglyphics on it and when you defocus your eyes and move it away, you can see a 3-D pyramid, sphinx and camel.

They are called a Magic Eye!  I remember those books from when we were young... look around online there is actually a website where you can make your own magic eye illusions and print them out and you can see the secret image!  It is so cool!  Actually my best friend and I had gone to provincials for our science fair because of our magic eye project!
