  1. Japanese pilots usually wore coverall's the only jackets I have seen were cheap cloth and long gone. You can buy American flight jackets on-line and from a lot of Army surplus stores. I have a real naval leather flight jacket I bought a few years ago surplus. The oldest from WWII are way to ratty now! Plus expensive.


  2. The Japanese pilots who flew the Zero wore an insulated corverall, similar to today's flight suit, but the US aviators wore a leather jacket.  It's the A1, as mentioned here, and is still available for sale.
