They can work in rehabilitation clinics and they help people become healthy using exercises. What do you call this type of doctor?

The type of doctor who works in rehabilitation (and may prescribe exercises to help people get well) is a PMnR doctor--that's "Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation" (which is waht my spouse is studying to be).  But a physical therapist is different--that's probably who usually helps the patient DO the exercises.

This type of doctor is called a physiatrist, pronounced fizz-eye-a-trist).  He/she specializes in rehabilitation medicine.  Someone mentioned osteopath, that is only partially correct.  Osteopathy is a recognized medical degree.  Some osteopaths do practice rehabilitation medicine, but not all of them do.  My own doctor is an osteopath but practices family medicine and sports medicine.
