  2. It is indeed a Ewer and Basin.

    Used commonly in Victorian and Edwardian times, the servants would bring hot water to the family or guests in the Ewer.It has a handle so that it could easily be carried from the Kitchen and utility rooms (in the basement) up to the bedrooms.
