What do you call your evening meal?

I call it 'tea', some people call it dinner or supper, i just want to know what you call it. And could you also put where you come from, please!! Weird question, i know!

  16. supper in south africa. aandete in afrikaans in south africa. usually the biggest meal of the day, but not for me its lunch at midday!

  17. We call our evening meal supper.  Our noon meal is called dinner.  What the British refer to as "tea", we call an afternoon snack (lol!).  I suppose breakfast is called the same no matter where you live.

    I live in East Texas, very close to Arkansas, Oklahoma and Louisiana in the US.

  19. Awesome question - for my family it depends on the size of the meal.  Dinner is always the biggest meal of the day.

    If the big meal of the day is in the evening (normal), it's called dinner, and the noon-time meal is called lunch.

    If the big meal of the day was earlier (say, Thanksgiving meal around noon or 1 pm), that's called dinner, and the evening meal (lighter, more like sandwiches) is called supper.
