OK. i know this is kinda weird but you know when you buy something with buttons, and it sometimes comes with a spare? well i stick the button to the tag of the item of clothing (so i know where it came from) and i keep them in my wardrobe. i have about 20. But im still building my collection. I want to know what do you collect?

(and while your here check out some of my other questions, if you answer this question and another of mine, i will give your 2nd answer a thumbs up, which means your very likely to get a best answer.)

Trimmings, buttons, elastic, zips (especially open ended heavy duty ones!  I have dozens!)

old sewing patterns.  I have a couple of thousand, and some date back to the 1950s.  They are fun.

    I just love sewing stuff...
